Football Fits was a £25,000 participation programme setup and managed by CSM Foundation over the 2018-2019 football season, thanks to funding from London Sport and Sport England through their Satellite Clubs programme. The project worked with 10 partner clubs in East London to deliver 12 projects. In total, the programme targeted over 350 inactive introverts, aged 14-19, to help them lead more active lifestyles. Final participant totals between the clubs totaled to 392 young introverts engaged through football.

Through London Sports personality identification toolkit, cautious introverts were identified as more likely to lead inactive lifestyles. By working with established clubs with local community connections, each project focused on self-improvement, increasing confidence, and getting individuals more active. Furthermore, the project opened opportunities to move into coaching with funding provided for 18 FA Level 1 coaching courses. A perfect opportunity for those moving from playing the sport to becoming confident young coaches of the game.

With East London’s huge diversity in ethnicity, each project was tasked with creating an environment inclusive of all ethnicities, whilst creating an enjoyable experience to help cautious introverts to lead more active lifestyles.
